Summer Harvest Festival

Just Shy of the Autumn Equinox …

… is the Summer Harvest Festival, a celebration that occurs before the traditional harvest moon.

To celebrate the area’s heritage and natural resources, Poplar Grove will be featuring a few of southeastern North Carolina’s favorite harvests: eggplants, cucumbers, green beans, tomatoes, muscadine grapes, and the two main crops that sustained Poplar Grove Plantation during the 19th century through the agricultural skills of Gullah Geechee descendants – peanuts and sweet potatoes.

Join us on Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th for a sweet potato good time. ¬†Find bulbs, plants, vegetables, peanuts & more at this 2-day event. There will be activities for the kids, a farmers’ row, food trucks, wagon rides, and vendors galore for this community celebration.
